Corpuscule Danse is dedicated to developing and promoting inclusive dance based on the encounter between dancers with and without visible or invisible disabilities and is led artistically by Marie-Hélène Bellavance and Georges-Nicolas Tremblay, Corpuscule Danse shapes a better way of living together.
Dépaysement : les eaux intimes invites us to the Fonderie Darling to experience an immersive exhibition/installation punctuated by 4 performances. For 3 weeks, open to the public, 5 creative performers, under the choreographic direction of Georges-Nicolas Tremblay, inhabit, deconstruct, dialogue, transform and leave traces in the environment created by visual artist Marie-Hélène Bellavance. Over the course of the days and performances, we, the audience, witness the transformation of an ecosystem and are invited to circulate and contribute to its metamorphosis.

'Under the themes of resilience and transformation, moving from the intimate to the collective, Dépaysement: les eaux intimes explores our interdependent links with others and our environment. An inclusive and sensory work that speaks of cycles, memories, everyday life and dreams, of knots that are tied and untied, of red, white... of life.'- Corpuscule Danse
For Danse-Cité, the work of the company has been inspiring, impactful, constructive and even instructive of creative future building in dance.
Our partnership with Fonderie Darling, a venue renowned for its visual arts exhibitions and installations, provides an ideal setting for this cocreation exploring both bodies and materials from a new perspective.

Marie-Hélène Bellavance
A multidisciplinary artist, Marie-Hélène Bellavance graduated from Concordia University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Psychology. She has a number of group and solo exhibitions to her credit, shown in various cultural venues across Quebec. Her practice focuses on the human being and its innate capacity for resilience. Through her pictorial, video, performance and installation works, she offers viewers a space for transformation in the face of the various griefs and experiences that cross and inhabit us. Drawing on the diversity of her body, the artist proposes a dance that lies somewhere between performance art and contemporary dance. Her approach to the body in movement is intimately linked to the individuality of each person. A performer with Corpuscule Danse since 2005 and now co-artistic and general director, Marie-Hélène Bellavance has danced for Jemima Hoadley (London-2005-2007), Estelle Clareton (2009-2010), Chantal Lamirande (2013-2014), Benoît Lachambre (2016-2020) and Lucie Grégoire (2016-2023). She continues to develop her vision of the contemporary body and to offer a look at bodily and functional diversity through different media.
Georges-Nicolas Tremblay
A self-taught dancer with a background in visual arts and theatre, Georges-Nicolas Tremblay first established himself as a creator, then as a dance performer. In addition to his personal creations, he has choreographed for theatre, operettas, musicals and music videos. In his work, he integrates text and song with dance, and uses cocreation and collaboration as a way to queer authorship and making process and to challenge prescribed creative hierarchies. He further explored these interests during his master's degree in dance at UQAM, where he examined dance dramaturgy from a relational angle, questioning the power dynamics within the process and their impact on the result. His latest creation, Fé-e-s sans foi, a queerdance musical, was presented at Théâtre La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines in 2024. As a performer, he has more than 25 years' experience, having danced for choreographers such as Sylvain Émard, Isabelle Van Grimde, Harold Rhéaume, Hélène Blackburn, Hélène Langevin and Ariane Boulet. Nicholas is also a playwright, teacher, dance mediator and audio-describer and has been co-artistic director of Corpuscule Danse, an inclusive dance company since 2014.
