An audience that experiments, an audience that informs us.
Join a group of about twenty people of all backgrounds, ages and walks of life to form the first Public-in-Residencecohort at Danse-Cité!
Public-in-Residence 26–27 offers a group of individuals a stimulating, tailor-made immersion at the heart of a season of dance, including performances, workshops and discussions with artists and Danse-Cité partners, as well as participation in surveys.
Public-in-Residence is based on a principle of mutual engagement: participants discover new artistic practices while becoming active contributors, informing the organization about the relevance of its activities and helping transform the relationship between creation and reception.
The project is built on a simple idea: audiences possess knowledge, experiences and perspectives that are essential. Public-in-Residence aims to bring together and nurture a cohort that reflects our society by gathering diverse audiences, underrepresented audiences, and people who are more or less familiar with, or distant from, dance practices. Danse-Cité seeks to better understand the realities and needs of its audiences.
