Dépaysement : les eaux intimes is a sensitive connection between visual art and dance. It is an exhibition in which artists, through various performative interventions, will transform this space in constant motion. Throughout the weeks of the exhibition, the public is invited to circulate and participate in its evolution.
Over the 23 days of the event, you'll be able to attend:
🧡 4 shows at the heart of the exhibition, witnessing dance performances and interconnected stories;
🧡 12 residential afternoons where you are free to visit and live the exhibition at your own pace, contributing to its evolution, interacting with the artists or watching them interact with the installations;
🧡 2 afternoons of discussions with resident sound artist Alexandra Templier.

The purchase of a ticket for a performance gives unlimited access to the exhibition and the habitations. Throughout the month, spectators can visit the galleries several times if they wish. Otherwise, the exhibition is also available for $8. Purchase on site at Fonderie Darling.

Dépaysement : les eaux intimes invites the public to freely circulate at the heart of visual, sound and performative installations, and to contribute to the process of metamorphosis in a multi-sensory work about resilience and transformation.
At the heart of the show, five creative performers, under the choreographic direction of Georges-Nicolas Tremblay, inhabit, deconstruct, dialogue, transform and leave traces in the environment created by multidisciplinary artist Marie-Hélène Bellavance. The soundscape is composed by artist Alexandra Templier. The audience is free to make its own journey, exploring an environment made up of dreams, memories and intimate confidences.
January 24: General audience + Impaired and semi-vision-impaired audience
For the blind and partially sighted, a team of guides will be on site, inviting audiences to a guided, tactile tour of the exhibition and a conversation with the artists after the show.

February 1rst: General audience + Deaf and hearing-impaired audiences
For the deaf and hearing-impaired, Marie-Pierre Petit, guest deaf artist, Pierre-Olivier Beaulac-Bouchard, deaf cultural mediator and Catherine Langevin-Pepin, LSQ interpreter, will be on site to offer a guided tour, a show and a conversation with the artists in LSQ.

6 HABITATIONS: EXHIBITION IN THE PRESENCE OF THE DANCERS

For two hours, the dancers inhabit, deconstruct, dialogue, transform and leave traces in the exhibition created by Marie-Hélène Bellavance.
During these moments of habitation in the presence of the artists, the public is free to visit and inhabit the exhibition at its own pace, contributing to its evolution, interacting with the artists or observing them in dialogue with the installations. A unique opportunity to discover the impact of performative actions on an exhibition.

For three hours, visual artist Marie-Hélène Bellavance continues the construction and deconstruction of the installations. During these moments of habitation in her presence, the public is free to visit and inhabit the exhibition at its own pace, to contribute to its evolution, to interact with the artist or to observe her dialoguing with the installations.
If desired, Marie-Hélène will assign tasks to share her artistic practice. Taking tea, playing music, reading, writing... the public is invited to contribute by leaving a trace of their passage. An invitation to weave, collectively, a work that highlights our intimate connections.
2 GET-TOGETHERS WITH SOUND ARTIST ALEXANDRA TEMPLIER

In an installation for Dépaysement: les eaux intimes, multidisciplinary vocal artist Alexandra Templier and her team explore the phenomenon of silence: what is said when our noise is silent? How can we re-enchant our relationship with life and the little miracles of everyday life?
The public is invited to observe, listen and take part in this intimate and collective experience. Le murmure du vivant is a work that combines improvised music, dance and visual arts, and whose creation will continue in the presence of the audience.
