“In the beginning, it was all about automatic reflexes and survival: breathing, smiling, crawling ... The first thing we learned was how to play together.” - Les Sœurs Schmutt
With L’entité du double, Élodie and Séverine Lombardo, a.k.a Les Sœurs Schmutt—sisters in real life and on the stage—have created a fictional autobiographical work based on their experience as identical twins and combining their dual creative strengths. Driven by a desire for simplicity and authenticity, Élodie and Séverine revisit what inspires them, stepping out of their comfort zones and presenting their journey across the desert.
As the duo reveal their innermost selves, audiences explore the boundaries between reality and fiction, between theatrical play and intimate glimpses of a shared story. A fitting piece for our Traces-Chorégraphes series.
