There’s a big difference between what we think and say and how others understand us. Our need to be loved and fear of rejection drive us to wear masks, which further widens the gulf that separates us. Under the circumstances, is a relationship with the other even possible? On the fringes of this impasse Little Lady takes the stage, and a dance of misunderstandings unfolds.
Drawing on extensive experience in dance and the circus, Sandrine Lafond conceived of the character of Little Lady. Part buffoon, part contortionist, her chief attributes appear distorted and magnified on closer scrutiny. The eccentric, darkly comic adventures of Little Lady evoke, with utter lunacy, the contemporary obsession with appearances and the image we project. Combining the many talents of Sandrine Lafond, this highly colourful one-woman show is a burlesque fable full of laughter and emotion, one’s that’s sure to surprise and cause even the hardest masks to crack.
